Microfiber Recliner

Patching or fixing a sofa cushion?

My boyfriend found a brand new loveseat recliner by the dumpster that only has a rip in it. It matches our set perfectly so Id like to try to fix it. It is about 1 1/2 inches looks like an "L" The material is microfiber suede so it is thin if I were to only ser it i think it might end up ripping from the needle holes. Any help would be awesome Thanks!!
The fabric is not removable and its not on a seam its on the front of the cushion. Thanks!

Check out your local fabric store and see if you can find
a match for the color of the loveseat. The best thing would
be to replace the piece with the rip in it. You didn't say if
the cushion is removable or if its attached to the recliner.
If its atttached and you don't want to go to the trouble of
taking the piece apart, then if you can find a matching
piece of fabric, blindstitch the piece onto the cushion by
hand, use a curved needle and sew it into the area covered
by the welt (if there is a welt on the cushion) if no welt,
stitch it right next to the seam. If you can take the cushion
off, just rip open the seams around the damaged piece and
replace with a new.
