they are wooden with a slanted latter with the bed railing on the top bunk and they do seperate into twin beds if nessacary........please help me make a desion on whether buying the bunk beds are a good idea. the 2 yo is on the bottom and the 5 yo will be on top and she know how to climb up and down thank you
i had a bunk bed with my brother but the problem sometimes would be that when he woke up, sometimes he would hit his head on the ceiling. so what we did was we took the top bed and put it next to the bed. so it was like 2 beds next to each other and that was a little better.
Some parents don't have any option other than having their children share a room, but others get the option to decide if they'll put their kids together or give them their own rooms. Does room sharing bring kids together, or is it a recipe for disaster? Let's take a look at all the options and see what the best choice for your family might be. Maybe it's time to put in some bunk beds and have your kids sleep in the same room together.
It doesn't matter whether your primary reason for putting the kids together is saving space or building a happier family, sharing a room can be a genuinely rewarding experience. However, it's not without its challenges. Kids sometimes divide rooms down the middle, fight over the closet and have other problems. However, most actually get along pretty well over all.
The biggest benefit for kids sharing a room is that they'll learn to come up with a relationship that can make them both happy. They'll learn to cooperate to decorate and share the room, even if that negotiation's not always the most peaceful. Be sure to create ground rules that will help you guide how this relationship goes.
Kids can bring out the best in one another by encouraging good habits. One child's creativity or interest in studies can spark those traits in another. Kids also like the night time company. It helps assuage fears of the monster under the bed, and can be a lot of fun. Plus, you'll get a lot of space by combining bedrooms, and the kids will like the extra space if a play room or family room is created.
Of course, kids can also learn bad habits from one another, or have competing temperaments that cause real issues. Plus, privacy is a concern. As your children get older, they'll be more concerned about keeping some space to themselves and spending time alone. They may also want to have friends over. One room with a couple of bunk beds can cause problems here.
What does that mean for you? You don't have to avoid putting your kids together just because there are potential downsides. Make sure that you have a plan to deal with every negative aspect of the situation, and know that it's not going to be trouble free. Older kids should be included in the discussion of whether or not they should share rooms, since they'll be affected pretty strongly. Sometimes, it's better to keep them apart and have weekend sleepovers.
However, for many families, younger children staying in the same room together can be effective and functional. It'll help improve family bonds and save space. Just be aware that when the children get older, you might want to split things up again. It varies according to the family, the space available, and the personalities of the children. Are you considering putting your kids in the same room? Take the time to think hard about it before you do, but it could be a great idea.
